As you may have picked up in last blog, I had the best seafood dinner ever last night, which I think contributed massively to a decent night’s sleep. Our plan was to get up and be out by 8.30am to that we could go up with the funicular to the top of the Floyen mountain. The funicular is called the Floybahn.
We were pottering around inside as the sun was not up yet, and then I noticed some snow on the roof of the adjacent building. Lo and behold it had snowed quite a lot overnight. We got to the station just before nine and went straight up. We were greeted by the site of a winter wonderland. It was too beautiful. Snow vovered all the major hillsides, the trees and the entire park on top of the mountain. Some spots didnt have footprints and it looked awesome.
Shortly after we got on top it started snowing, gently at first. But when a flake hits your eye or lands in your ear, its quite a sensory shock. Like true Vaalies we stayed out in the snow as long as we could. A couple of snowballs were thrown and they landed spot on target. We had fun playing with panoramic pics and poses and took heaps of photos in the snow. The weather started closing in and visibility did deteriorate. All good things come to an end and so just before frostbite set in, we came back down into the city again.
Our first stop was Starbucks, where I had a ginger latte with christmas blend beans and a cinnamon roll. Dawn had a toffee nut latte. Yummy, but very sweet. Then home to finish packing and prepare for the next adventure. We will catch a taxi to the Hurtigruten terminal and board the boat later this afternoon. I started my seasick medication yeaterday, so hopefully it has kicked in already.
Going to share lots of pics now…so enjoy

Happy sailing. Will be eagerly awaiting the next lot of photos and news. Such an awesome experience. Keep warm, stay safe.
