Killarney and Kenmore

This is going to be a short post today, because I only ‘worked’ halfday. The dreaded flu has hit today, so I took a half day’s sick leave.

I spent the morning driving to Killarney and visited the Ross Castle and partly visited Muckleross house. Ross Castle is a 15th-century tower house on the edge of Lough Leane in Killarney National Park. It is the ancestral home of the O’Donoghue clan.

Then I popped in at Muckleross House – a bit Downton Abbeyish. It looked lovely, I had a short walk around the gardens, but by that time I  was feeling achy and sweaty, so I decided to just go home and chill. A Coryx and sinutab and an hour nap… and a good long read, and then I felt reasonably human again. Even though I spent half the day in my room, I still racked up 7318 steps.

Dinner was comfort food – steak and ale pie with veggies.

Tomorrow I am off to Cork for 2 days, via Blarney Castle.
