Whew, finally here and checked in for our flight to Bergen, via Heathrow and Oslo. It’s amazing how life works, no work for 5 months and then busy until 11am on day of departure.

I have averaged about 3 hours sleep for the past 3 nights, so I am fully expecting to get some sleep on the plane. Dawn and I spent the afternoon with Mom and Dad and were well fed with the most delish cold roast butternut salad, fish, beetroot and salad. Followed by the best carrot cake ever at Gail and Keith’s place. So a truly splendid sendoff for the intrepid travellers.

The universe was smiling and we got to the airport with no glitches and about 10 minutes before the storm of storms. I begged the driver from Aircare Carpark to go as fast as possible to get my car undercover, I promised I would pay all the fines. Glad to report that just after our seamless check in, I phoned and he confirmed that he made it to the covers in the nick of time.

Cleared customs quickly and now relaxing in the lounge, finally gotten around to setting up my blog. Inspired by Tylakins too- who is very keen to share our exploits. I am going to buy a data card, but I am not sure what signal will be like at sea.(Yes I have my Epinutin tablets for seasickness)! But will update and blog as often as possible.
